A little bear filled with Iowa honey.
Our Small Honey Bear holds .14 lb of raw, hyper-local Iowa honey—a fun way to try a new varietal without committing to a larger jar.
Choose your honey varietal from our available seasonal selections. Each bear is filled with honey harvested in small batches from one of our central Iowa apiaries, where the flowers, trees, location, and season help create the distinctive flavor of every harvest.
The small size makes these honey bears perfect for tasting, gifting, adding to a charcuterie board, or taking a little honey along with you.
Hyper-Local Iowa Honey
Our bees gather nectar within roughly three miles of each apiary in central Iowa. The resulting honey reflects the local flora, weather, bloom periods, and growing conditions unique to that place and season.
Our varietals are not monofloral. We identify them by apiary and primary nectar source when one can be determined, while recognizing that our bees may also gather nectar from clover, wildflowers, and other blooming plants nearby.
Black Locust honey is delicately sweet and pale in color, with subtle vanilla notes. Linden/Basswood honey offers a distinctive medium sweetness with fruity notes and hints of citrus or mint. Wildflower honey reflects the changing mix of nectar available throughout the season. Notably, our Indianola Wildflower is very dark and sweet this year.
When you select Black Locust or Linden/Basswood honey, we’ll also include food-pairing suggestions to help you explore its distinctive flavor.
